i am

the widow who

never

married.

i am

the weight you

never

carried.

i am

the crack in

the ice.

i am

tired of

being nice.

i am

the widow who

never

married.

i am

the crack neath

your feet.

i am

tired copping

it sweet.

i am

the widow who

never

married.

watch it

son

you’ll

get

buried.

I am.

unkindness you raised

you forgot-

the demons

always

repaid

kick you to the kerb.

kick you again until you

bleed for both of us.

all the worst things are

right there inside you, you are

made of water and oil

the tide

that drags

me

down,

you spit me

out upside

round,

you haul

and pull

and push

me in,

and then

you let me

spin
